Football Game Preview: Spruce Creek Hawks vs. University Titans + Official Tickets

Spruce Creek has gone 7-1 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will take on the Titans at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spruce Creek has five straight victories, University has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Back in September, Spruce Creek beat Titusville 29-22. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Terriers are ranked 148th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Spruce Creek's win came down to the chemistry between Pj Miller and his top target Cameron Oxendine. Miller threw for 285 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt while Oxendine picked up 201 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Oxendine's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, University played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-7 defeat at the hands of Jesuit. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Spruce Creek's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Spruce Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their game against University in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
