Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery County Wildcats vs. Russellville Indians

The Montgomery County Wildcats will face off against the Russellville Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Russellville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Thursday. Montgomery County walked away with a 6-1 victory over Linn. Montgomery County's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Russellville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hermann 4-3. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The win got Montgomery County back to even at 2-2. As for Russellville, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Montgomery County was able to grind out a solid win over Russellville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. Will Montgomery County repeat their success, or does Russellville has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
