Football Recap: Burbank Falls to La Vernia in First Game of Season

Burbank had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the La Vernia Bears on Friday, falling 71-6. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-0.

NULL COOPER had an outrageously good game for La Vernia as he rushed for 79 yards and three scores on only five carries, and also threw for 93 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. RICHARDSON BECKETT was another key passer, throwing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Coming up, Burbank will face off against Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Vernia, they will challenge Cuero at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
