Jarrell came out on top against Lampasas on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Cougars took their game against the Badgers 8-5. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Badgers on March 5th, they had to take a 12-10 defeat.

EMMERSYN DREYER spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, PEYTON GOUGLER was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of CARYN RESER, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

The victory made it two in a row for Jarrell and bumps their season record up to 10-15-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lampasas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jarrell will square off against rival Gateway College Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lampasas is set to challenge their familiar foe Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
