Softball Recap: Pell City Gets the Win

Pell City took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Chelsea, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pell City Panthers had just enough and edged out the Chelsea Hornets 3-2 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Hornets back in February, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Pell City's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Briley Goodgame, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jenna Lewis was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Pell City's record is now 13-7. As for Chelsea, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pell City will host Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chelsea, they will take on Helena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
