Baseball Recap: East Aurora Has No Trouble Against Cleveland Hill

East Aurora had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Cleveland Hill on Monday. The Blue Devils blew past the Golden Eagles 15-1. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Ben Wright was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because East Aurora is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Wright was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ross Rozanski, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Jackson Catenzaro was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double.

East Aurora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

East Aurora's record is now 8-6. As for Cleveland Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
