Basketball Game Preview: Nowata Ironmen vs. South Coffeyville Lions

Nowata and South Coffeyville are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Nowata Ironmen will host the South Coffeyville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nowata, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized South Coffeyville's (thus far) undefeated season.

Nowata lost 55-33 to Caney Valley on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Coffeyville took on Shidler on Tuesday. South Coffeyville blew past Shidler 60-38. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

South Coffeyville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37 points. As for Nowata, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1.

Nowata strolled past South Coffeyville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 40-24. Will Nowata repeat their success, or does South Coffeyville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
