Baseball Recap: Ocean View Christian Triumphs

The Ocean View Christian Patriots were able to grind out a solid victory over the High Tech Mesa Thunder on Wednesday, taking the game 12-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Parker Broersma made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Broersma was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Alec Buhr was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Martinez-Rubio, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Ocean View Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for High Tech Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocean View Christian will face off against High Tech CV at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for High Tech Mesa, they will take on Liberty Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
