Volleyball Game Preview: Michigan City Wolves vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies

The Michigan City Wolves will face off against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Michigan City has three straight victories, Kouts has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Michigan City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on La Porte with a sharp 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, Kouts suffered their biggest loss since April 14th on Friday. They came up short against Lake Central, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.

Kouts' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Michigan City, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Michigan City has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Kouts struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Michigan City couldn't quite get it done against Kouts when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
