Softball Recap: Dunbar Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Dunbar proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 victory over the Southwest Raiders.

Dunbar got a massive performance out of Treniti Moss, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Moss a new career-high in RBI (three). Tajzianna Hunter was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Dunbar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dunbar's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Southwest, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Dunbar Wildcats challenge Western Hills Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest, they are taking a road trip to square off against Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest is facing Diamond Hill-Jarvis at the right time seeing as Diamond Hill-Jarvis is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
