Baseball Recap: Kern Valley Starts Season with Loss at Home

Kern Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 10-2 to the Windward Wildcats on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Broncs have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Kern Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Mead, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Windward and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will head out to square off against Laton at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windward, they will head out on the road to take on Malibu at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Windward's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Malibu's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
