Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Central Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bethlehem Central and Guilderland had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles fell just short of the Flying Dutchmen by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Dutchmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bethlehem Central got a good showing from Nolan Devejian, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Bethlehem Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Evangelista, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Bethlehem Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Guilderland, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Bethlehem Central will square off against Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Guilderland, they will take on Albany at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
