Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Vikings vs. Oakhaven Hawks

In what's become a running theme this season, the Hillcrest Vikings gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Oakhaven with a sharp 100-80 win. The victory was nothing new for Hillcrest as they're now sitting on six straight.

It was another big night for Jordan Allen, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 52 points and 11 assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Hillcrest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Herron, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Jertavien Williams and Amari Spates certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Williams scored 28 points, while Spates scored 23 points. Williams hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. Ky'Sedreon Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Hillcrest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Oakhaven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Hillcrest will be playing at home against the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Vikings are ranked 117th). As for Oakhaven, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
