Football Recap: Byrd Comes Up Short

Byrd was the 49-14 winner over Haughton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellow Jackets were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 36-35 to the Buccaneers.

Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Haughton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Byrd will face off against rival Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Haughton is set to take on their familiar foe Parkway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
