Soccer Game Preview: James Irwin vs. Florence

James Irwin is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Florence Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

James Irwin's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Sierra. Baili McKim was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Florence). They put the hurt on Trinidad with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-1.

Florence's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for James Irwin, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Everything went James Irwin's way against Florence in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as James Irwin made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Irwin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
