Hardin Valley Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Bearden, who was ranked fourth at the time (Hardin Valley Academy was ranked eighth). The Hawks won by a goal and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Hardin Valley Academy.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sevier County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Jefferson County by a score of 4-3. Sevier County fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Jefferson County since on Thursday.

Hardin Valley Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-3-3. As for Sevier County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-2.
