Softball Game Preview: Golden West Trailblazers vs. Woodlake Tigers

The Golden West Trailblazers are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodlake Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Golden West is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Tulare Western. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trailblazers.

Khianna Hardwick made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hardwick was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Reann Boyd was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Golden West hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Woodlake waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Guardians as they made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 23 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Woodlake pushed their record up to 26-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Golden West, their record is now 16-12-1.

Golden West took their victory against Woodlake in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
