Baseball Game Preview: Masconomet Regional Chieftains vs. Danvers Falcons

The Masconomet Regional Chieftains are taking a road trip to face off against the Danvers Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Things were looking good for Masconomet Regional after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Beverly by a score of 5-4. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Danvers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2024. They blew past Beverly 7-1. The Falcons have beaten the Panthers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Danvers got a big performance out of Josh Henry, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Curcuru, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Masconomet Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Danvers, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Masconomet Regional took their win against Danvers in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
