Volleyball Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Canyon View Jaguars

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Canyon View Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Canyon will be strutting in after a win while Canyon View will be coming in after a defeat.

While Willow Canyon's victory against Valley Vista wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats won by a set and slipped past the Monsoon 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Monsoon: they've now won five in a row.

Willow Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-11.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Canyon View took on Kellis on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.

Canyon View has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Willow Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.

Willow Canyon might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Canyon View in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
