Basketball Game Preview: River Ridge Hawks vs. Lakes Lancers

The River Ridge Hawks will head out to take on the Lakes Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

River Ridge will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Timberline, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. River Ridge walked away with a 68-61 victory over Timberline on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Lakes didn't have too much trouble with Capital on Tuesday as they won 77-62. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Lakes and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for River Ridge, they have also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

River Ridge beat Lakes 77-70 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for River Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
