Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee Bluff vs. Jefferson

The Cherokee Bluff Bears will face off against the Jefferson Dragons on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Gilmer get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Winning may never get old, but Cherokee Bluff sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Jefferson came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Tigers. Give Jefferson's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Jefferson's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those nine games. As for Cherokee Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

Cherokee Bluff couldn't quite get it done against Jefferson when the teams last played back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
