Baseball Recap: Merrillville Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Merrillville was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lake Central Indians, falling 18-1. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Merrillville has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Lake Central, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

While Merrillville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
