Volleyball Recap: Southmont Mounties vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

Southmont lost against Frankfort back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mounties fell just short of the Hot Dogs by a score of 3-2.

Southmont took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-18, 23-25, 25-13, 15-8.

Ella Barry paced Southmont's offense, picking up 22 kills. Barry got some help from Haylee Hall and her 35 assists. Barry also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kenzie Clate, racking up four apiece.

Frankfort found their leader in sophomore Grace Myers, who had 21 digs and four assists. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Myers.

Southmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Frankfort, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Southmont has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Cascade on the 23rd. As for Frankfort, they will square off against North Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
