Football Game Preview: Archbishop Curley Friars vs. St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings

The Archbishop Curley Friars are taking a road trip to square off against the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Curley's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Archbishop Curley after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boys Latin. While the Friars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lakers 6-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, St. John's Catholic Prep played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-20 to John Carroll. The Vikings have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

St. John's Catholic Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Archbishop Curley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Archbishop Curley's way against St. John's Catholic Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Archbishop Curley made off with a 44-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Friars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
