Basketball Recap: Kingwood Finds Home Court Redemption Against Goose Creek Memorial

There's no place like home for Kingwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots by a score of 61-54 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carinne Bouie, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Bouie has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madyson Dumphy, who posted 15 points along with five boards and four steals.

Kingwood's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-15. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Kingwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-12 loss against North Shore on the 18th. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 92-25 defeat against King on the 18th.
