Softball Recap: Bozeman Wins Going Away Against Vernon

Bozeman's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Vernon Yellowjackets 16-1. Considering the Bucks have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bozeman let Kinsey Bruhmuller and Karlee McLean run wild. Bruhmuller scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while McLean scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs McLean has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Presley Thomason, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bozeman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Bozeman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Coincidentally, Bozeman and Vernon will both be playing Freeport the next time they take the field. The Yellowjackets will host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bucks will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
