Football Game Preview: Braxton County Eagles vs. Buffalo Bison

The Braxton County Eagles will take on the Buffalo Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Braxton County is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Poca on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the Dots.

Braxton County found their leader in sophomore Logan Payne, who rushed for 116 yards and a pair of scores. Those 116 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Payne.

One reason for the win was Braxton County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Trevar Edgerton was especially locked on to Poca's QB and sacked him twice. Edgerton also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Braxton County is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buffalo). They blew past Calhoun, posting a 63-26 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bison, who have now won three matchups in a row.

The victory got Braxton County back to even at 3-3. As for Buffalo, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.
