Football Recap: Southwest Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Southwest Leadership Academy fell victim to Berean Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 38-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 48-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

JOHNNY TORRES was a one-man wrecking crew For Berean Academy. as he rushed for 188 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Those 188 rushing yards gave TORRES a new career-high. Another player making a difference was ISAAC MERRILL, who rushed for 60 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Southwest Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Berean Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Leadership Academy will square off against Wickenburg Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berean Academy, they will take on Gila Bend at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
