Andrews Osborne Academy hasn't had much luck against Open Door Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Phoenix will head out to face off against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Open Door Christian will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Andrews Osborne Academy extended their winning streak to six on Friday. The Phoenix put the hurt on Lake Ridge Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Andrews Osborne Academy was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-15, 25-13.
Andrews Osborne Academy can attribute much of their success to Iris Parker, who had seven digs and two aces.
Parker wasn't the only good servers: Andrews Osborne Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Open Door Christian made easy work of Laurel on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Open Door Christian never let Laurel on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.
Andrews Osborne Academy's record now sits at 14-3. As for Open Door Christian, their record is now 12-4.
Andrews Osborne Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Open Door Christian when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Phoenix, Julia Reaser (who had 14 digs and five aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
