Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Military Magnet Academy Eagles
It was a good run, but the Cross Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 93-37 loss at the hands of Military Magnet Academy. Cross has struggled against Military Magnet Academy recently, as their match on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Cross struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Military Magnet Academy racked up 17 assists.
Dream Watson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds for Military Magnet Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DaNariyah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Cross' loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Military Magnet Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
Cross will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lowcountry Leadership at 6:30 p.m. Lowcountry Leadership is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Military Magnet Academy on the road again on Wednesday and play against Charleston Math & Science at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Charleston Math & Science will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Military Magnet Academy is ranked 32nd).
