Recap: Oakman Wildcats vs. Curry Yellowjackets

The Oakman Wildcats waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Curry 62-25 at home. That 62-25 margin sets a new team best for Oakman this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rick Johnson, who scored 22 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Oakman's points. Aidan Carson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.

Oakman's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Curry, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Oakman has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Victory Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 5th. Victory Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Oakman is ranked 95th). Curry's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sumiton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th.
