Baseball Recap: Mountain View's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mountain View and Aragon pushed the score to 13-12 the last time they played Aragon, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Spartans walked away with a 4-0 win over the Dons. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Preston Huang's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Xu was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Luke Orrock was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Mountain View moved to 10-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Aragon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Mountain View will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Homestead at 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Aragon, they will take on Mills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
