Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middie Bears vs. Minisink Valley Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Middletown Middie Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Minisink Valley Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Middletown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 74-16 win over Monticello. Given the Middie Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Panthers are ranked 612th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Minisink Valley entered their tilt with Monticello on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 59-27. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Middletown pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Minisink Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Middletown beat Minisink Valley 45-32 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Middletown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
