Basketball Recap: Monsignor Scanlan Has No Trouble Against St. Joseph-By-The-Sea

After losing to St. Joseph-by-the-Sea the last time they met, Monsignor Scanlan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders put the hurt on the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings with a sharp 71-48 victory on Saturday. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Monsignor Scanlan now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

Monsignor Scanlan and St. Joseph-by-the-Sea should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Monsignor Scanlan (ranked 41st) will meet Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (ranked 168th) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Similarly, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea will challenge Bishop Loughlin at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd up 271 places (11 vs. 282).
