Softball Preview: Normal Community Ironmen vs. Ottawa Pirates        
        
		
            
 Normal Community has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  take on the Ottawa Pirates at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Normal Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game  this season.
 Normal Community is headed into the  match fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Richwoods on Wednesday as Normal Community made off with  an  18-7 victory.
  Madison Ummel and  McKenna Baughman did most of the damage at the plate:  Ummel  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances, while  Baughman  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Hayley Michels, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.
 Ottawa lost  10-3 to Geneseo on Wednesday.
 Normal Community has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-19 record  this season. As for Ottawa, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
 Normal Community couldn't quite finish off Ottawa when the teams last played  back in May of 2023 and fell  5-3. Can Normal Community avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
