League recap: Lomax overpowering for Mira Mesa in past week

Trey Lomax was the best pitcher in Eastern this week, leading Mira Mesa. He picked up one win and seven strikeouts.

St. Augustine (23-7, 9-3) has won five games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. One of those wins came in the past week,.

Cathedral Catholic's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing six hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.

The league boasted ten .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Tyler Herburger, who hit .667 this week (4-for-6).

Taylor Ahearn hit four home runs this week.



St. Augustine's Elliott Stepanof threw seven shutout innings in a 3-0 win over the Dons on Thursday. He struck out two, allowing two hits.

Sean Bouchard drove in five runners on Tuesday in Cathedral Catholic's 15-3 victory over El Capitan. He went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
