Baseball Recap: St. Paul's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Paul hadn't done well against Serra recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The St. Paul Swordsmen beat the Serra Cavaliers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-2. This was payback for the Swordsmen, who suffered a 7-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory (which was St. Paul's third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Serra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-3.

St. Paul wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against La Salle on the 17th. As for Serra, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Paraclete on the 18th.
