Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln lost against LaCrosse back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lincoln Leopards took a 40-25 bruising from the LaCrosse Leopards. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while LaCrosse is ranked 149th).

LaCrosse's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Molly Showalter, who posted 15 points and six steals. Showalter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendra Marvin, who put up eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for LaCrosse, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Lincoln will challenge Rock Hills on Friday. As for LaCrosse, they have already played their next matchup, a 55-8 win against Chase on the 11th.
