Football Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Lamar fell victim to Mena and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Bearcats, falling 21-0. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 34-21 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eli Jones threw for 33 yards on three of five attempts. On the ground, Corbin Cowell rushed for 96 yards.

The critical scores for Mena came from Tycen Baber, Hunter McClara, and Chance Hughes.

Lamar now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mena, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Lamar will head out to take on Dover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mena, they will take on Ozark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Hillbillies have averaged an impressive 45.6 points per game this season.
