Basketball Recap: First Baptist Comes Up Short

First Baptist lost to Samueli Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. First Baptist fell 55-44 to Samueli Academy. First Baptist has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zack Castruita was a one-man wrecking crewfor Samueli Academy as he posted 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Castruita has scored at least a third of the Firewolves' points. Another player making a difference was Brenden Coughlin, who had 13 points.

First Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Samueli Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. First Baptist will head out to square off against Southlands Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.45 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Samueli Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Acaciawood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
