Volleyball Game Preview: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Kankakee Kays

Andrew is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Kankakee an eight-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Andrew Thunderbolts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kankakee Kays at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Andrew came up short against Lincoln-Way East and fell 2-0.

Andrew was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lincoln-Way East work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18.

Andrew's defeat came about despite a quality game from Aidan Aguayo, who had 11 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Kankakee also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Joliet Central by a score of 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20.

Kankakee's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Andrew, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Andrew was able to grind out a solid win over Kankakee in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Thunderbolts repeat their success, or do the Kays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
