Preview: Houlka Wildcats vs. Potts Camp Cardinals
The Houlka Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Potts Camp Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Houlka scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over Houston.
Houlka got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Kilpatrick out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The game was Kilpatrick's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Foster, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though New Site scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Potts Camp still came out on top. Potts Camp came out on top in a nail-biter against New Site and snuck past 65-63.
Houlka pushed their record up to 7-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Potts Camp, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Houlka didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Potts Camp in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. Does Houlka have another victory up their sleeve, or will Potts Camp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
