Lake Norman took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Hough, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lake Norman Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hough Huskies on Friday, sneaking past 4-2. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Michael Busa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Carson Beaver was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Lake Norman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Lake Norman's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hough, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Norman will welcome West Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be West Cabarrus' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Hough, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
