Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for San Mateo

San Mateo waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the El Camino Colts by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Tuesday.

Christian Louie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. San Mateo is 6-2 when Louie allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, San Mateo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Bleess, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Hayato Nishiyama, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

San Mateo's record is now 9-7. As for El Camino, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Mateo will head out to challenge American at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for El Camino, they will venture away from home to face off against Terra Nova at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
