Softball Recap: Greece Odyssey Comes Up Short

Greece Odyssey extended their losing streak to ten on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They came up short against the Webster Schroeder Warriors, falling 9-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in April.

As for Webster Schroeder, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.4 runs.

For Webster Schroeder's part, Hannah Coliicchio was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coliicchio has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Webster Schroeder got a big performance out of Kate Sayers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Sayers a new career-high. Amber Kohlmeier was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Greece Odyssey will venture away from home to square off against Hilton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Webster Schroeder, they will welcome Rush-Henrietta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
