Kennedy and American are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Titans will head out to challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy has three straight victories, American has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Kennedy was able to grind out a solid win over Mission San Jose, taking the game 4-1.

Marilyn Rivas made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Rivas wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Montague, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Danica Harper also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, American lost 24-3 to Newark Memorial on Thursday.

Mya Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

American's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Kennedy, their record now sits at 5-2.

American's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Kennedy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for American, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Kennedy keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?

Everything went Kennedy's way against American when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Kennedy made off with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
