Softball Recap: Bear Creek Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Bear Creek put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Edison Vikings. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bruins also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Natalie Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Amiyah Owens was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Maloy, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bear Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Bear Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Edison, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bear Creek will venture away from home to square off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Edison, they will challenge Liberty Ranch at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
