Bowie put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over the Glenn Grizzlies.
Bowie had a senior duo take command as Cruz Tello rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries and Kayson Mathabela rushed for 107 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Tello has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Ball, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bowie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Bowie's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Glenn, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Bowie will challenge Judson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 857 yards in their previous games. As for Glenn, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East View at 7:00 p.m. on September 27th.
