Softball Recap: Bishop Watterson Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Watterson took on Bishop Hartley on Wednesday. The Eagles fell 13-8 to the Hawks. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bishop Watterson got a massive performance out of Clare Feehan, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Feehan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Mayhan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Watterson and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Bishop Hartley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Watterson will venture away from home to take on St. Francis DeSales at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Hartley, they will head out to face off against Johnstown-Monroe at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
