Preview: McCann Tech Hornets vs. Drury/Mount Greylock Regional
The McCann Tech Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Drury/Mount Greylock Regional at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (McCann Tech is ranked 288th, while Drury/Mount Greylock Regional is ranked 273rd).
McCann Tech's 15-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 20-10 win over Pathfinder RVT. The win was just what McCann Tech needed coming off of a 36-6 defeat in their prior contest.
Walter Mazza and Connor Packard were among the main playmakers for McCann Tech as the former rushed for 121 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Drury/Mount Greylock Regional was able to grind out a solid win over Springfield International on Friday, taking the game 20-12.
Their wins bumped McCann Tech to 1-6 and Drury/Mount Greylock Regional to 2-5.
McCann Tech might still be hurting after the 27-2 defeat they got from Drury/Mount Greylock Regional in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can McCann Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
